Founded on May 27, 1997, The Center of Creative Development and Humanitarian Education “Na Vasiljevskom” is situated in the center of the city on the Vasiljievsky island – one of unique islands of the Neva’ delta. The Center of Creative Development and Humanitarian Education is a State institution of complementary education that has many directions of activity.
Our mission:
To make comfort conditions for a development children’s striving for creation; to develop children’s creative abilities; to facilitate personal and professional self-determination of our pupils.
The educational process is based on principles of a humanism in accordance with values and standards of national and world culture, bearing in mind actual tendencies to broadening of social and culture space.
Our Center is a territory of bright, modern ideas in a sphere of dance, music, fine art and info technologies. More than 3,5 thousands pupils aged between 3 and 18 are taught here in different studios whose number today is over 300.
Pupils and their teachers are frequent participants, laureates, prizewinners of city, all-Russian and international contests, exhibitions and festivals. School-leavers continue their professional education that was began in the Center, in high and special educational institutes of Saint-Petersburg.
A teachers-group of the Center also organizes various festivals, creative and busyness meetings among specialists in education sphere, culture and art; exhibitions, concerts, holiday evenings.
The Center has 2 concert halls, Children Art Gallery, a library and class-rooms for lessons.
A programme of fine art contains the following disciplines:
Painting, drawing, printing drawing, illustration; design; textile-painting, ceramics, history of art; dress modeling.
The studies consist of 3 phases: primary, secondary and higher.
Na Vasiljevskom is a member of Eksperimenta! international network and the coordinator of the Russian exposition of Eksperimenta! 2011.
